Datsun, a brand owned by Japan’s Nissan Motor Company, would not go for cross-badging of its models with its alliance partner Renault.

“As of now, there are no plans to cross-badge Datsun models with Renault,” Ajay Raguvanshi, VP (business development) of Nissan Motor said at the launch of Datsun Go hatchback here on Thursday.

He said that Nissan had gone for cross-badging three of its models with Renault, namely Micra, Scala and Terrano.

Nissan and Renault have a shared manufacturing facility in Chennai with a capacity of four lakh units per annum.

He said that Datsun would have three models in its stable in India by 2016.

Later this year, Nissan would manufacture and sell Datsun in the markets of Russia, Indonesia and South Africa.

The official said the company was strengthening its dealer points and service centres across the country.
