Amazon said it will provide customers access to innovative products and gadgets developed by start-ups during its Prime Day, an annual shopping event exclusively for Prime members.

As many as 18 start-ups would unveil exclusive products for all Prime customers on the Amazon Launchpad, an online marketplace for young ventures.

Some of the products to be unveiled include anti-theft bags for laptops and LED bulbs with more than 16 million colour options which can be controlled from anywhere. Other products include smart toys that help children learn science, technology, engineering and mathematics, besides bike seats for comfortable ride.

“We want to help start-ups showcase their cutting-edge products to millions of Amazon customers,” said Aman Deep Lohan, Head, Amazon Launchpad India, in a statement.

Prime Day, Amazon's annual shopping event celebrated by more than 100 million Prime members in 17 countries, including India, is now in its second year in India. It will feature innovative products across different categories ranging from health, electronics to food products between 16-17 July 2018.

Car Wi-Fi

For instance, AutoWiz would be unveiling AutoWiz HotSpot, a connected car solution which can turn any car into a 4G speed Wi-Fi hotspot. This solution also allows the user to remotely monitor car health, get insights to help save fuel, and drive safe. For mountain riders, another venture Fego has come up with ‘Float’, an air suspension seat add-on, to prevent back pain that comes with extra grip and advanced strap. It helps in strong mountain riding. TGL Co., a coffee and beverages start-up on Amazon Launchpad, has specially created ‘Imperial Treasure Coffee Gift Box’ which is apt for gifting or for personal use. It consists of 100% Arabica Coffee beans that are sourced from plantations around the world like Ethiopia, Brazil and India. The beans are micro-roasted in small batches for optimum flavour and are ground in-house as per customer preference to provide the freshest coffee experience.

“We plan to rapidly expand the company's product offerings to appeal to men across India,” said Aditya Advani, founder of Spruce Shave Club, which sells its products on Amazon.
