Axis Bank raises 55 million dollars from overseas market

Private sector lender Axis Bank has raised USD 55 million through issuance of debt securities in the overseas market.

“The Bank has allotted Senior Notes aggregating to USD 55,000,000 under the MTN Programme through its Hong Kong branch,” the bank said in a filing to BSE.

The bank did not provide details about usage of proceeds.

A Senior Note is a kind of debt security or bond taking precedence over other unsecured debts.

In November 2014, Axis Bank had raised USD 500 million by raising debt overseas.

The Axis Bank scrip closed 0.27 per cent lower at Rs 569.45 apiece on BSE.
