RBI fixes referencer rate

The Reserve Bank of India on Wednesday fixed the reference rate of rupee at 64.1135 against the US dollar and at 72.1662 for the euro as against 64.1505 and 72.2720 on Tuesday.

According to an RBI statement, the exchange rates for the pound and yen against the rupee were quoted at 100.3184 and 51.91 per 100 yen, respectively, based on reference rates for the dollar and cross-currency quotes at noon.

The SDR-Rupee rate would be based on this rate, the statement added.
