Jaffna Trade Fair opens

The first Jaffna International Trade Fair opened in the north Sri Lankan city today, to facilitate a quicker re-integration of the north with the country’s economy.

The Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka and Lanka Exhibition and Conference Services, and the local business chambers are organising the three-day fair.

The event supported by the Indian High Commission, the Sri Lankan Government and anchored by the Indian Consulate in Jaffna, has a strong Indian presence. A few companies from Malaysia, Indonesia are also participating, apart from Sri Lankan business houses.
