Contest for renaming Khushwant Singh’s book

The closing day of the Khushwant Singh Literary Festival at Kasauli saw the announcement of a contest to rename what many consider to be the late writer’s best book, I Shall Not Hear The Nightingale .

The competition, in conjunction with the Khushwant Singh Foundation and Penguin India is open across all ages, worldwide. The winner will be announced on Singh’s 100th birth anniversary in 2015 and the book will be published the same year.

Among the judges are Chikki Sarkar, chief editor, Penguin India, Kushwant Singh's daughter Mala Dayal, publisher of Ravi Dayal Books and some surprise names from Bollywood.
