The longlist of 13 books for the 2023 Booker Prize 2023 was announced on August 1, and the shortlist of six books was declared on September 21. The winner of the £50,000 prize will be announced on November 26, 2023.

The longlisted titles are:

The Bee Sting - Paul Murray

Western Lane - Chetna Maroo

In Ascension - Martin MacInnes

Prophet Song - Paul Lynch

All the Little Bird-Hearts - Viktoria Lloyd-Barlow

Pearl - Sian Hughes

This Other Eden - Paul Harding

How to Build a Boat - Elaine Feeney

If I Survive You - Jonathan Escoffery

Study for Obedience - Sarah Bernstein

Old God’s Time - Sebastian Barry

A Spell of Good Things - Ayobami Adebayo
