February 01, 2015 06:04 pm | Updated 06:04 pm IST - NEW DELHI:

Asian Games silver medallist pair of Saketh Myneni and Sanam Singh was beaten 6-4, 6-2 by wild card entrants Cheng-Peng Hsieh and Chu-Huan Yi of Chinese Taipei in the doubles final of the $50,000 Challenger tennis tournament in Hong Kong on Sunday.

While Saketh and Sanam had negotiated two tough matches along the way, pulling through in the super tie-break, the Taipei lads had it relatively easy, and had a walkover from the third-seeded Ratiwatana twins, Sanchai and Sonchat, in the semi-finals.

The champion team collected $3100 and 80 ATP points, while the runners-up pocketed $1800 and 48 ATP points. Saketh had earlier won $1460 and 15 ATP points for making the quarterfinals of singles, when he had beaten the top seed Ricardas Berankis of Lithuania in the first round.
