The Sports Ministry has decided to pay $25 per day as out-of-pocket allowance to players representing India in international tournaments abroad.
The decision was taken keeping in view the long standing demand of the sportspersons, the Sports Ministry said in a statement Wednesday.
“The Ministry has issued orders on Tuesday with a direction to all National Sports Federations for implementation of the policy with an immediate effect,” the statement said.
The allowance would be provided to players and other members of the Indian contingent who are deputed as part of the official contingent at government cost for participation in major international sports events abroad.
