G.K. Shyam’s knock of 83 put City-II in a comfortable position against City-IV at the end of the first day of a TNCA under-16 cricket tournament’s round-robin match, here on Thursday.

In another match, Joy Kenny’s half-century helped City-III score 239 in its first innings against City-I.

The scores (first day): City-III 239 in 84.5 overs (Joy Kenny 65, D. Anchit 47, G.V. Vignesh 44, M.S. Washington Sundar three for 48) vs. City-I 21 for two in 11 overs.

City-II 239 in 69.1 overs (C. Karthik 29, K. Vishal Vaidhya 44, G.K. Shyam 83, P.B. Anirudh 34, K. Sadagopan three for 53) vs. City-IV 45 for two in 20 overs.
