Varsha Sanjeev pocketed her second title in as many days, as the 14-year old from Karnataka defeated Saniya Arif 37-23, 61-44 in the girls' sub-junior snooker final at the Hash-10 National championships here on Wednesday.

Later in the evening, Gujarat's Dhuvaj Haria made it his fourth National boys' sub-junior billiards title in a row, as he coasted to a 327-116 win over Javieer Dhingra in the one-hour time format final.

Varsha continued her form from Tuesday, when she had won the billiards title, to come up with a steady show, making most of her turns at the table count.

Saniya, on the other hand, clearly had problems with her potting, as the youngster could not sink a single coloured ball for almost the entire length of the final.

Eighteen of Saniya's 23 points in a largely uncontested first frame arrived via fouls from Varsha.

The story was not too different in the second frame, and despite being just one point ahead (38-37) half-way through, Varsha held her nerve to close out the frame and the contest 61-44. Dhuvaj was perhaps the promising of the youngsters on view and saved his best for the final, clustering the balls during his visits and spreading them out during turn-overs to deny Javieer opportunities to accumulate big breaks. In three successive turns at the table, Dhuvaj gathered breaks of 33, 36 and 17 to chalk up a healthy lead early on. It was 88-21 after 15 minutes of play and 152-66 in Dhuvaj's favour a little after thirty minutes. The Gujarat lad sealed the contest with a break of 46 a few minutes later.
