Vani Kapoor raced to a stunning 16-stroke victory as the eighth leg of the Hero women’s pro golf tour concluded at the Eagleton Golf Resort here on Friday.

The Delhi golfer carded a splendid four-under-68 on the final day to finish with a three-round total of 206 and claim her fourth title this season.

Gursimar Badwal, tied third overnight, climbed up to second place after an even-par round. Kolkata’s Neha Tripathi endured another tough day, shooting four-over-76 to slip to joint third alongside Amandeep Drall (224).

Vani may have had one hand on the trophy overnight but she did not ease up on day three. She made two birdies on the front nine and picked up another shot on the 14th.

A bogey on the 15th was the only blemish on her card as the 22-year-old completed her round with two birdies on the last two holes.

The victory catapulted Vani to the top of the Hero Order of Merit (after only five appearances), ahead of Neha.

The ninth leg of the Tour will be played at Clover Greens near here next week.

The scores: 206: Vani Kapoor (68, 70, 68); 222: Gursimar Badwal (75, 75, 72); 224: Amandeep Drall (81, 72, 71), Neha Tripathi (71, 77, 76); 226: Mehar Atwal (79, 71, 76); 231: Suchitra Ramesh (A) (76, 81, 74).
