Samaresh Jung qualifies for final

Samaresh Jung (CISF) qualified for the 10m air pistol men’s event final at the SEED 2nd Gun for Glory shooting championships, ahead of seven others also making the grade. He recorded 587, Army’s Gurpreet Singh was second with 582 and Neeraj Kumar (MP) third in 577 at the Balewadi shooting range on Friday.

Dakshvir Singh Ahlawat (Haryana) clinched the men’s clay trap event on the second day, pipping Vikram Kakade (Maharashtra) for the title on the tie-breaker. Bhupender Singh (Chhattisgarh) won the third spot.

Diksha Rajput (MP) claimed the 10m air pistol title in youth women category, firing 377 and winning on more inner 10s. Shreya Gawande (Mah) and Oshin Tawani (MP) clinched second and third spots.
