Randhir not to stand again for IOA post

The Secretary-General of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), Randhir Singh, announced on Tuesday that he would not be seeking another term as an office-bearer when the IOA elections were to be held in 2012.

Saying that it was time for him to bid farewell to the Olympic Movement in the country after an association of nearly five decades Randhir wrote a letter to his colleagues in the IOA and the National federations to announce his decision.

A member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) since 2001, Randhir, 65, said that he would continue in his position as the Secretary-General of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) till at least the end of his current term in 2015.
