Prasad nominated as Match Control at BWF tourney

Andhra Pradesh Badminton Association secretary K. Ch. Punnaiah Chowdary on Saturday said that M. S. N. Prasad has been nominated as Match Control by Badminton Association of India (BAI) for the Yonex Sunrise India Open super series world badminton tournament to be held at New Delhi from April 24 to 29.

This is first time an Indian badminton official has been entrusted the responsibility of a Match Control in a Badminton World Federation super series badminton event.

This event also assumes importance as this is the last qualifying tournament for London Olympics.

Mr. Prasad has served BAI for six years in various capacities as office secretary, results control and match control at various national, all India major ranking tournaments and many international tournaments held in India. He is now working office secretary of Andhra Pradesh Badminton Association and he also an assistant editor of Indian Badminton House Newsletter, a comprehensive magazine on badminton.

A former student of P. B. Siddhartha College of Arts & Science, Vijayawada, Mr. Prasad represented Acharya Nagarjuna University and participated in all India inter-university and many state level tournaments.

Mr. Prasad, who hails from Nagayalanka in Krishna district, thanked both Mr. Punnaiah Chowdary and P. Ankamma Chowdary, director, physical education director, P. B. Siddhartha Arts and Science College, for encouraging him to learn the nuances of game and its administration.
