Nanjappa clinches gold

Prakash Nanjappa warded off a stiff challenge from Samaresh Jung to clinch the men’s 50-metre free pistol gold in the 14th Kumar Surendra Singh shooting championship at the Dr. Karni Singh Range, Tughlakabad, on Thursday.

The results:

Men: 50m free pistol: 1. Prakash Nanjappa 194.2 (10.1) 548; 2. Samaresh Jung 194.2 (8.7) 546; 3. Vijay Singh 170.6 (545).

Juniors: 1. Sumedh Kumar (538); 2. Vishwajeet Singh (537); 3. Arjun Das (535).

Women: 25m sports pistol: 1. Pushpanjali Rana 7 (15) 567; 2. Anita Devi 1 (13)9 (566); 3. Shreya Gawande 7 (13)3 (563); 4. Gauri Sheoran 3 (13)7 (568).

Juniors: 1. Chinki Yadav (571); 2. Gauri Sheoran (568); 3. P. Shri Nivetha (565).
