Marwan Shorbagy emerged victorious in the ISP Minute Maid Squash Carnival final in Mumbai.

Marwan Shorbagy, seeded number two from Egypt and aggressive from the outset in the men’s open final at the ISP Minute Maid Squash Carnival, carved out an impressive 11-3, 11-8, 12-10 win over Kamran Khan, the top-seed from Malaysia.

He earned the winner’s purse of Rs 1.5 lakhs on Saturday at ISP’s 100th tournament, jointly hosted by Khar Gymkhana and Juhu Vile Parle Gymkhana.

The Egyptian faced resistance in the third game when Kamran caught up at 10-all by saving two match points. The top-seed, richer by Rs 75,000 for runner-up place, found the tin with a backhand try, Marvan responded with a forehand winner to seal a fruitful week.

Women’s top-seed Delia overpowered fellow Malaysian Siti Munirah Jusoh, seeded number two to win 11-2, 11-6, 11. The women's topper and number two earned Rs 75,000 and Rs 40,000 respectively.
