Lyceum College triumphs

Lyceum College (Karachi) and Ladies College (Colombo) bagged the prestigious UNIFI Capital Trophy (boys) and Fathima Hussain Trophy (girls) in the UNIFI Capital-ASRA Regatta at the Rowing Centre, Koovathur near here on Saturday.

Lyceum and Ladies College won most of the medals. Lyceum clinched three gold and one silver while Ladies College won three gold, three silver and two bronze medals.

Satyabrata Sahoo, Additional Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Government of TN gave away the prizes. Sarath Reddy, Managing Director, UNIFI Capital, was also present.

The results: Senior boys: (double sculls): Lyceum School, 2. Govt. VHSS (Ker); Single sculls: Govt. HSS (Ker), 2. Mile Marker ‘A' (Bangalore); Coxless four: 1. Lyceum School, 2. Lake View (Kolkatta); (Colombo).

Junior boys: (coxed four): 1. St. Michael's Academy (Chennai), 2. Centre of Advanced Studies (Karachi, Pakistan); Single sculls: 1. Bala Vidya Mandir (Chen), 2. Lady Andal (Chen); Double sculls: 1. Vidya Mandir (Che), 2. Prince of Wales College (Colombo).

Senior girls (single sculls): 1. Ladies College ‘A' (Colombo), 2. Ladies College ‘B'; Coxed fours: 1. Musaeus College (Colombo), 2. Ladies College; Double sculls: Govt. VHSS (Ker), 2. Musaeus College.

Junior girls: (coxed fours): 1. Ladies College, 2. AMM Matriculation (Chen); Double sculls: 1. Karachi Grammar (Karachi), 2. Ladies College ‘A'; Single sculls: 1. Ladies College, 2. Bishop Cotton (Bangalore).

Overall championship: senior boys: Lyceum School (Karachi) 18 pts; Junior boys: St. Michael's Academy (Chen) 14 pts; Senior girls: Ladies College (Colombo) 19 pts; Junior girls: Ladies College 19.
