Jeev Milkha Singh inched closer to securing his PGA Tour card after finishing tied seventh at the Turning Stone Resort golf championship with a blemish-free eight-under 64 in the final round here.
It was Jeev’s best card of the week as he sank in an eagle and six birdies to end the tournament with an aggregate of 14-under 274 and share the seventh place with four others.
Arjun Atwal also brought home an improved three-under 69 to finish tied 49th with a total of seven-under 281.
After parring the first two holes, Jeev birdied the third before knocking down an eagle on the next. He picked up a couple of more shots at the seventh and ninth to take the turn at five-under.
He continued the brilliant run in the back nine, sinking in birdies on the 10th, 13th and 14th holes to finish the day on a high.
At the top, American Matt Kuchar (69) beat Vaughn Taylor (66) in a play-off to lift the title after both of them finished with a four-day total of 17-under 69.
Randhawa misses the cut
At St. Andrews (Scotland), Jyoti Randhawa and Shiv Kapur missed the cut after returning over-par cards in the third round of the Alfred Dunhill Links championship.
While Randhawa carded a two-over 74, Kapur was even worse at four-over 76 in the penultimate round, finishing the rain-hit event outside the top-60 and ties.
At the top, Luke Donald turned in the lowest round of his European Tour career, carding an eight-under 64 to take the lead at 14-under.
