IWL postponed

December 03, 2011 02:17 am | Updated November 17, 2021 12:06 am IST - NEW DELHI:

The Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) and its partner M/s. Leisure Sports Management, Kolkata, have decided to postpone the launch of the Indian Wrestling League (IWL) as it would disturb the Indian wrestlers' preparations for the London Olympics next year. The IWL, originally scheduled to be held in February and March, would now be held from November 15 to December 14, 2012.

“Chief coaches of both men's freestyle and women's teams, Vinod Kumar and O.P. Yadav respectively, have strongly advised the postponement,” said IWL Governing Council chairman G.S. Mander in a statement.
