Egyptian players, Malak Emad El Defrawy, Salma Emad Farid El Defrawy (women), A Kharagi and world number 37 Omar Aziz (men), Malaysian men Choong Kam Hing (world 147), Muhanad Asyraf Bin Azan (world 58) and women Siti Munirah Binto Jusoh, Pushppa Devi Pramasewain are the foreign players expected to be seen in action at the Indian Squash Professionals 100th squash tournament, named the ISP-Minute Maid Squash Carnival, from February 5-12, 2011.
Indian entries for the event, jointly hosted by Khar Gymkhana and Juhu Vile Parle Gymkhana, include Siddharth Suchde, Gaurav Nandrajog, Vikas Jangra, Sandeep Jangra, Mahesh Mangaonkar, Aditya Jagtap in men, Saumya Karki, Shreya Khatri and Surbhi Mishra in women.
Competitions will be held in 20 different age categories and total prize money is Rs 11 lakhs, as announced by Ashish Gupta, ISP president, in the presence of Mahendra Agarwal, ISP founder-president, and Shiv Malhotra, secretary-general, Squash Racquets Association of Maharashtra (SRAM).
Apart from the men’s and women’s open, competition will be held for boys and girls in the age groups U-19, U-17, U-15, U-13 and U-11. There will also be joint events for boys and girls in the U-7 and U-9 age groups and competitions for men over 35, over 45, over 55, over 65 and for professionals. ISP’s 100th event has been structured in a manner to provide a playing opportunity to squash players of all age groups and in all brackets.
