India starts favourite

India will start clear favourite in the South Asia Basketball Association (SABA) under-18 men’s qualifying round, which begins at the Koramangala Indoor Stadium here on Saturday.

The host is expected to face little difficulty in getting past Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, the other teams in the fray. The winner of this league will book a spot in the FIBA Asia under-18 championship, which will be held in Doha from August 19 to 28.
