English Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton, a three-time Formula One champion, will start in pole position for Sunday’s Canadian Grand Prix here.

Hamilton notched his 53rd pole of his F1 career with a best-lap time of 1:12.812 hour in Saturday’s third qualifying session at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, while teammate and 2016 points leader Nico Rosberg will start second on the grid after posting a time of 1:12.874, reports Efe.

Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel and Australian Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo will start third and fourth, respectively.

Rosberg leads the drivers’ standings with 106 points after six races of the 21-race season, while the two-time defending champion Hamilton is in second with 82 points and Ricciardo is in third with 66 points.

Ferrari driver Kimi Raikkonen is in fourth place with 61 points, one ahead of his teammate Vettel, a four-time F1 drivers’ champion.
