Gold, silver for Indian archers

The Indian team, comprising Sanjay Boro and Madhu Vedwan, pipped Indonesia via shoot-off to bag the recurve mixed team gold at the Asia Cup Stage-2 archery tournament at Bangkok on Thursday.

The two sides were tied 4-4 after winning two sets apiece. In the shoot-off, India beat Indonesia 20-19 to take the gold.

India had defeated the Philippines 5-1 in the semifinals and Chinese Taipei 6-2 in the quarterfinals.

Indian archers also gathered the compound mixed team silver as well. The team, consisting of Vikas Rajan and V. Jyothi Surekha, lost to the Philippines 153-155 in the final. — Special Correspondent
