Alicia Coutts of Australia has her second gold medal in the Commonwealth Games pool, winning the 100-metre freestyle to go with her victory on Monday in the 200-metre individual medley.

Coutts finished Wednesday’s race in 54.09 seconds to edge teammate Emily Seebohm. Francesca Halsall of England took the bronze.

England, which won two gold medals on Tuesday, got off to good start on Wednesday when James Goddard won the men’s 200 freestyle. Gareth Kean of New Zealand took the silver and Ashley Delaney the bronze.

Australian swimmer Andrew Lauterstein was a late scratch from the later 50-metre butterfly due to a stomach virus.
