Bolisetti for Euro Racecar championship

February 14, 2013 01:33 am | Updated 01:33 am IST - HYDERABAD:

Indian race driver Sailesh Bolisetti will participate in the Euro Racecar championship for the 2013 season, driving the Chevrolet Camaro for the reigning champion squad Scorpus Racing, according to a press release.

The 24-year-old Sailesh will thus be the first Indian to take part in the Europe-based stock car championship, run on the lines of NASCAR in the United States.

After having had a podium finish on his debut followed by his maiden win in Nurburgring last year, Sailesh’s season was cut short because of technical issues and DNFs.

“My ultimate goal is to be a top-level saloon car racer. And, Euro Racecar is the right step towards that,” said the Vizag-based Sailesh in a statement.
