Canada's Ryan Cochrane in action in one of the men's 1,500 metre freestyle heat at the Dr. S.P. Mukherjee Aquatics Centre on Friday.

15:22 Right then, folks. That's about that from me. Been a pleasure bringing to you live updates - as always. See you all tomorrow afternoon. Oh, and am leaving you all in the expert hands of Anand Venkateswaran. >Click here to continue following our coverage.

15:11 India gets bronze in men's recurve.

15:10 India needs 25 points from the last three hits to win the bronze medal.

15:05 India in action against England in the men's recurve event. This is a bronze medal match. India are leading 166-164 after 6 rounds. Close one this

Correction (see - 14:42) Australia did a 1-2 but apparently the bronze went to Canada's Zach Bell. The results board initially showed that Michael Frieburg had won the bronze.

15:02 India have beaten T&T 7-0 in women's hockey.

14:55 Right you know the routine. Another gold for Australia. This time it's in the shooting range; Laetisha Scanlan and Stacy Roiall have won the gold in the women's pair event.

14:50 Some better news for fans of Indian hockey. The women are leading Trinidad&Tobago 6-0 with five minutes in the second half.

14:42 Australia do an incredible 1-2-3 in the men's 20 km scratch race in cycling. Cameron Meyer gets the gold.

14:33 Devvarman's opponent in the final is, quite surprisingly, not Peter Luczak but Greg Jones.

14:32 Sania is through to the finals 1-6, 6-4,6-4. After the initial hiccups, she fought back well to first tie the encounter before easing into the final.

14:30 Sania is just about on her way. She is serving at 5-4 in the third set.

14:21 Aren't those guys in the gold and yellow good? They have beaten India in the semifinals of the men's team recurve archery event.

14:10 Am back. Sania has the third set under control as well. She is leading 4-1 and serving for a 30-0 lead. Looking promising.

Just stepping off to grab a bite. Will see you folks in under 10 minutes.

13:58 Sania has fought back to win the second set 6-4.

13:55 India:Shooting::Australia:Cycling? Australia pick up yet another gold in the Velodrome. This time it's the men's team sprint were they beat New Zealand. Actually.. to be fair to Australia, they have just about won gold medals in every event.

13:45 Vijay Kumar of India gets gold in 25 mtr rapid fire pistol. Gurpreet has to settle for bronze.

13:43 Gurpreet and Vijay were actually not in trouble. My apologioes. On their way to shooting in the last competition series. Five shots in four seconds.

13:35 Gurpreet Singh and Vijay Kumar in action in shooting in the 25 mtr rapid fire pistol men. And both of them are in trouble.

13:25 Alison Shanks of New Zealand gets gold in women's 3,000 mtr individual pursuit final in cycling.

13:23 Rogowska, already up a break in the second set, gets broken back by Sania. It's now 3-2 with Sania to serve.

13:12 Right. How about this? People who have watched the Tour de France would probably amazed about the aerial coverage. The vast greenlands and the rocky mountains providing a breathtaking view to the competition. When the marathon and the road cycling events happen happen later in the competition, the aerial footage could provide angles of Delhi in an entirely different light. However... apparently the OC has not yet got permission for aerial coverage to cover those events. >Unbelievable? Believe it.

13:02 The other medal winners in the 50 mtr rifle three position (pairs) were England James Huckle and Kenny Parr (silver) and Scotland's Jonathan Hammond and Neil Stirton.

13:00 Olivia Rogowska comfortably takes the first set against Sania Mirza 6-1 in a women's singles semifinal.

12:50 England lose to Malaysia in an epic five-set (five-game) thriller to lose the bronze medal match. Think of going anywhere? Don't event dream as India are up next in the finals....

12:40 Gagan Narang and Imran Hasan of India win gold in pair 50m rifle three position. They shot a 2325 to set a new Games record.

12:35 Into the fifth set.

12:30 Back to the bronze medal match betwene England and Malaysia in the women's team event. It's a humdinger by the looks of things. It's 2-2 with Malaysia leading England by 2-1 in the fifth game. However, England have a distinct 7-4 advantage in the fourth game.

12:30 Louise Hazel of England comfortably clears 1.69 metres. The stands are largely empty but one must be a brave man to come out at 12 in hot and humid conditions.

12:25 Women's high jump. Just around the 1.67 metres mark at the moment.

12:21 Devvarman serves out the match with an ace. As emphatic as possible.

12:17 Devvarman leads 5 games to one and will serve to book a place in the final.

12:10 The AP news agency is reporting that Canada's Jamie Adjetey-Nelson is leading the decathlon after the completion of six events. Having amassed 5,117 points so far, he leads Brent Newdick of New Zealand who has 4,950 points. England's Martin Brockman in in third.

If you folks want to invest in a new TV, there cannot be a better time. The second Test between Australia and India starts tomorrow.

12:06 Devvarman pressing his foot on the accelerator to go 3-1 up in the second set.

12:04 Missed out on all the drama in the women's 100 metre final? Fear not >as this is exactly what happened .

12:00 New Zealand have comfortably beaten England 4-1 in a women's hockey group game.

11:49 Devvarman is now one set to love up against Ebden. After closing out the first set 6-3, he consolidates by holding his serve in the first game of the second with ease.

11:45 Here's the first report on the >women's recurve victory .

11:27 Matt Ebden has fought back quite quickly - most Australians do. He now leads the first set 3-2.

11:16 Devvarman has started confidently. He's already up a break and leading 2-0 in the first set.

11:06 Somdev Devvarman in action against Matt Ebden of Australia for a place in the men's final.

11:00 India's national anthem echoes all around the archery range. The crowd, I must say, is creating some noise there. With tomorrow and day after being weekends, expect more passion and more noise.

10:51 Wow. Super rally culminates with a smash which just goes out of bounds. The early morning crowd is rather buoyant. It's two sets all and five games all in the fifth set.

10:49 Malaysia and England in action in a bronze medal match in the women's team event in TT. India, of course, beat England in the semifinals. The finals of the women's team event in TT will be held today.

10:41 That indeed does mean that India gets gold while England - after dominating for the first 21 hits - will have to settle for the silver. That is also important from a medals tally point of view because India - before this gold medal - were leading England just by two gold medals.

10:40 Drama. England get a 9, 6 and an 8 to hand India victory by a solitary point. 207-206. Sensational last three hits by the Indian girls.

10:38 India finish with a flourish with a 9,9 and a 10.

10:36 England are controlling the affair with some timely bulls eye hits. With just the final round to come, England ear leading 183-179.

10:32 England just about have the advantage in the women's recurve archery final. After 15 hits each England leads India 129 to 125.

10:28 Earlier in the day Australia drew South Africa 1-1 in women's hockey

10:27 And we have our first final of the day. India against England in the women's recurve archery. England and India are tied at 74 apiece after the first 9 hits.

10:20 So that's another medal assured for India - again in women's wrestling. After being reliably informed that Geeta Devi picked up India's first medal in women's wrestling, could there be another just 24 hhours later?

10:19 What a dominating performance from start to finsh. Babita picks up an easy victory and qualifies for the final in the women;s 51 kg freestyle category

10:16 Babita Kumari in action in the women's 51 kg wrestling actegory.

10:12 Megan Buydens of Canada reaches the final of women's freestyle wrestling in the 67 kg category.

10:10 Infact, if you are anywhere in the vicinity of New Delhi, get to the swimming complex by hook or crook before this evening. There are 11 gold medals to be handed out in the pool from about 16:00 IST this evening.

10:09 James Goddard leads the men's roster in the final of the individual 200 mtr medley. South Africa's Le Clos - who has already won a couple of medals - also books his berth in the final. Keep an eye out for this one.

10:05 Wales's first women medallist in the pool for some 36 years - Jazz Carlin - is safely through to the women's 400 mtr freestyle. As is England's Adlington. That could be acracker of a final.

10:03 Joe Roebuck of England is the winner with a time of just over 2 minutes. India's Poncha comes in sixth.

10:00 Action in the men's 200 mtr individual medley. Rehan Poncha in there as well. This is the second heat. medley of course is where the swimmers change from one discipline to another - backstroke, buttferly and so on - after every 50 metres.

09:51 Oh look, it's the wonderful game of Lawn Bowls going on between India and Scotland in the triples men. India leading Scotland 6-4 in end 8 in the first set.

09:48 Lauren Boyle of New Zealand comes through in first place in the next heat. Well below the pace, which can be understood, because they just need to get a good enough time to qualify for the final.

09:42 England get a 1-2 in the heats as Jo Jackson eases home in first place.

09:40 England's Jo Jackson - tipped to win something in this discipline - is leading after the first 300 metres.

09:34 The women's 400 mtr freestyle heats is going to start.

09:32 Babita leading 5-0 in the all-crucial third round. That's some fierce wrestling. This is in the wrestling 51 kg freestyle. And Babita wins 5-0 in the third to advance. This is a qualification round.

09:30 Got some early women's wrestling action. Babita of India in action against Macdonald of Canada. They have won a round apiece.

09:22 And it's good news as the Indian women's recurve team qualifies for the final with relative ease; requiring just one to overtake Malaysia they go on a 10,9 and 9 to beat Malaysia. They will now take on the winners of the England vs Canada encounter in the final.

09:20 Been a very low-scoring contest but India break the shackles with a treble of 10's to extend the advantage to a whopping 23 points after seven rounds.

09:13 India have taken a commanding 10 point lead after the first four rounds in the archery range

09:06 I tell you what, the athletes are up and about already. The swimming is going on, archery is going and even the hockey has started. Australia are currently tied with South Africa 1-1 in the first half in women's hockey.

09:05 India in action against Malaysia in recurve archery. This is the semifinals in the women's section. Currently India are leading 50-45.

08:58 Action coming thick and fast early in the morning. The men's 1,500 mtr freestyle heat is going. The commentators - out of obligation more than anything else - talk of Grant Hackett's monster world record in this discipline set more than half-a-dozen years back.

08:55 Emily Seebohm of Australia goes in the next heats but Melissa Ingram of New Zealand finishes first. Seebohm finishes second. This could be an interesting finals if all the swimmers live up to reputations.

08:52 Australia's Belinda Hocking finishes first in a women's 200 mtr backstroke heats.

This is a huge day - not least because there is a whopping 42 gold medals to be decided. Some of the 42 gold medals - not surprisingly - will be decided in the pool.

Before the action starts today, just a quick rewind of the action on the day four.

>India continued their losing streak against Australia in men's hockey.

>The Indian archery team brough home a silver and a bronze

Indian gymnast >Ashish Kumar created history by winning a bronze medal

>Indian shooters continued their excellent haul with two more golds

>Geeta Devi brought home India's first ever gold in women's wrestling.

First things first. The winner of the 100 mtrs in the women's category - Sally Pearson - has been disqualified because of a false-start. A protest was launched yesterday by more than one nation and it has been upheld. Nigeria's Oludamola is bumped up to gold from silver, Natasha Myers now has the silver with England's Endacott rounding up the top three.
