India’s most successful campaign in the World youth women’s boxing championship became even sweeter as all its five boxers in the finals bagged gold medals at the N.C. Bordoloi Indoor Stadium here on Sunday.

Backed by a rapturous house, the Haryana quartet of Nitu (48kg), Jyoti Gulia (51kg), Sakshi Chaudhary (54kg) and Shashi Chopra (57kg) and Assam girl Ankushita Boro (64kg) emerged champions.

India’s bagged five golds and two bronzes to take the top spot.

Nitu started off the gold rush taming Kazakhstan’s Zhazira Urakbayeva 5-0.

Jyoti executed her plan well to beat Ekaterina Molchanova 5-0. She also qualified for next year’s Youth Olympics.

World junior champion Sakshi got past Ivy-Jane Smith 3-2. Shashi managed a 4-1 win over Vietnamese Hong Do. Ankushita defeated powerful Russian Ekaterina Dynnik 4-1 and was adjudged ‘best boxer’ of the event.

The results (finals): 48kg: Nitu bt Zhazira Urakbayeva (Kaz) 5-0; 51kg: Jyoti Gulia bt Ekaterina Molchanova (Rus) 5-0; 54kg: Sakshi Chaudhary bt Ivy-Jne Smith (Eng) 3-2; 57kg: Shashi Chopra bt Hong Do (Vie) 4-1; 60kg: Aeji Im (Kor) bt Vittoria de Carlo (Ita) 4-1; 64kg: Ankushita Boro bt Ekaterina Dynnik (Rus) 4-1; 69kg: Citlalli Oritz (USA) bt Nataliya Sychugova (Rus) 3-2; 75kg: Anastasiia Shamanova (Rus) bt Georgia O’Connor (Eng) 5-0; 81kg: Arailym Begdilda (Kaz) bt Anastasiia Rybak (Rus) 3-2; +81kg: Kristina Tkacheva (Rus) bt Dina Islambekova (Kaz) 5-0.
