Afghanistan stays away, Pakistan to follow suit

After the FIBA, which was upset that the IOA was interfering in the affairs of the BFI and had even started selecting national basketball teams, sent an advisory to the national federations to refrain from sending their teams for the South Asian Games, Afghanistan has decided to stop its men’s team from going to India.

Pakistan, which had suffered a one-year ban for factional fighting in its association which was lifted by FIBA just five months ago, is also likely to stay away at least to stay in the good books of the world body.
