Osborne-Paradis wins men’s downhill in Italy

Manuel Osborne—Paradis of Canada won a World Cup downhill on Saturday on the Saslong course.

Osborne—Paradis covered the 3.446—kilometer (2.14—mile) layout in two minutes, 1.27 secondsand Mario Scheiber of Austria was second, 0.13 seconds behind.

Lower—ranked skiers were still coming down.

Most of the pre—race favourites struggled against headwinds.

The circuit heads over the Gardena pass to nearby Alta Badia for giant slalom and slalom races on Sunday and Monday.
