Mark Webber stole the pole position from teammate Sebastian Vettel as Red Bull dominated qualifying for the South Korean Formula One Grand Prix on Saturday.

Webber clocked 1 minute 37.242 seconds for the lap of 5.615 kilometres on the Korea International Circuit with time running out in the final qualifying session. It was his second pole of the season.

The two-time reigning champion Vettel was unable to better that mark after a small mistake on his final lap and had to settle for second ahead of McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton and championship leader Fernando Alonso of Ferrari.

Alonso tops the title race with 194 points from 15 of 20 races, but Vettel has moved within four points of the lead on 190 after winning the last two races.
