M. Mohit of Wallace Sports clinched the JK Tyre Junior Cup after winning all the races in the fourth and final round at Irrungattukottai on Sunday. He had earlier scripted comprehensive victories in the first two rounds before winning the ninth race in the third.
Scorching start
Mohit gained ascendancy in race 10 after a scorching start. While he coasted to victory, teammate Naveen Anbarasu came second. The lone woman competitor Alisha Abdullah of Rams Racing emerged third.
The next race saw Mohit march towards another triumph while K. Naveen of Rams Racing, despite giving a tough fight, finished second best.
Naveen Anbarasu had to settle for third spot.
Mohit completed his hat-trick and set up an all-Wallace Sports podium finish in race 12.
Varun Nathwani emerged second, while Ashwin Ramachandran ended up third.
All drivers moved up in their positions after Chetan of Wallace Sports was excluded in the third and fourth rounds due to technical infringements.
In the overall championship points table, Mohit finished with 106 points, followed by Naveen Anbarasu who stood at 64 points. Varun Nathwani came third with 54 points.
Balasubramanian, Chief Manager, and M.M. Lodha, Senior General Manager, JK Tyre & Industries Limited, gave away the prizes.
