Powering through: Santolino Lorenzo rode steadily to make the third leg all his own on Wednesday.

The third leg of the Maruti Suzuki Desert Storm 2018 here on Wednesday saw Sherco TVS Factory Rally Team’s Santolino Lorenzo finish first with a steady, if not spectacular, performance. His counterpart in Group A (upto 450cc category), TVS Racing’s Tanveer Abdul Wahid, was fourth.

Lorenzo’s performance has ensured that he has moved up to third in the overall ranking, while Tanveer is at a steady fifth place.

The rally coursed through the sand-dunes surrounding this city and the Spaniard braved scorching heat and an unpredictable terrain to emerge on top in the 348mm stretch through Mokul and Asutar.

Commenting on the team’s performance, B. Selvaraj, team manager, TVS Racing said, “It has been an incredible leg for Lorenzo as he really upped his game to finish at the top. Tanveer has also maintained his consistent performance. With two more legs to go, I am confident our riders will continue to boost their performance and improve their rankings.”

With C.S. Santosh out after injuring his neck, all eyes are on Aaron Mare (Angata Racing) and Lorenzo.
