D. Kishore Kumar defeated Kamal Teja in four games to lift The Father Principal’s Cup for table tennis singles at the 80th Bertram Memorial tournament here.
In an all-Loyola final, Kishore was troubled in the first game before he improved to beat his opponent without dropping a game. After a thrilling game one which was won 14-12 by Kishore, Teja couldn’t sustain his performance and lost the remaining games 6-11, 7-11, 6-11. Kishore constantly drew errors from Teja’s forehand and the latter’s poor serve ensured a quick end.
