A fringe political outfit said they will not let Deccan Chargers skipper Adam Gilchrist play in Cuttack if he and other Australian players if they do not wear black badge during the IPL matches.
“Gilchrist must wear black badge or else no Australian player would be allowed to play at the Barabati stadium,” Hemant Rath, President of Kalinga Sena said.
Rath also threatened to disrupt matches if Cheers Girls perform during the matches.
“Sena activists will certainly penetrate the security net and stop the matches at Cuttack if cheer girls dance there.”
However, B.K. Sharma, the Commissioner of Police of Bhubaneswar-Cuttack, said that they will ensure smooth conduct of IPL matches on March 19 and 21.
Deccan Chargers will take on King’s XI Punjab on March 19 and will lock horns with Delhi Daredevils two days later.
