Tevez: City was wrong to fire Hughes

April 13, 2010 04:13 pm | Updated 04:13 pm IST - MANCHESTER

Carlos Tevez says his Manchester City team was wrong to fire manager Mark Hughes this season and that replacement Roberto Mancini pushes players too hard in training.

Tevez says “Mark should have been given more time.”

Hughes was fired in December after the team won two of 11 games. But City had drawn eight of those matches and had lost fewer games overall than any other Premier League club.

Mancini has lifted City to fourth in the standings but Tevez said in an interview with Daily Mail newspaper that the players “are not happy” with his training sessions being so long at the end of a gruelling season.
