Record signing Gareth Bale will be out of action indefinitely with a muscle injury, his club Real Madrid said on Wednesday.

Bale, 24, has a pulled muscle in his left thigh and will not return to action until he is completely fit.

He will miss Wednesday’s Champions League clash at home to Copenhagen and Saturday’s league visit to Levante.

According to AS, Real are hoping he will be fit for the home game against Malaga on October 19.

Bale has only played 132 minutes for Real since joining from Tottenham Hotspur for a reported world record fee of €101 million ( $137 million) in September.
