England’s FA charged over attempted pitch invasion

UEFA opened disciplinary proceedings on Sunday against England’s Football Association over an attempted pitch invasion by fans at the group D match with Sweden at Euro 2012.

A statement said the FA was being charged for “the inappropriate behaviour of their supporters” at the match in Kiev on Friday.

The control and disciplinary panel of European football’s organising body will deal with the case on Wednesday.
