Sprint superstar Usain Bolt has congratulated Bayern Munich on their record-breaking run to the Bundesliga title and rates them highly in the Champions League as well.
“Bayern have performed impressive this season. It is extraordinary to win the championship in such a strong league by a big margin and so early,” Bolt told the Bild am Sonntag Sunday paper.
Bayern clinched the league title on Saturday in record time with six games to spare, 20 points ahead of Borussia Dortmund. Bolt said that more silverware could loom in the German cup and in the Champions League, where they are in the quarterfinals.
“I believe that Bayern have a good chance in the Champions League if they regain top form, even though Real Madrid and Barcelona look strong as well,” Bolt said.
“The players should enjoy the moment. (But) If they wait a little with the party they may have a few additional reasons for an even bigger party.”
