Deenadayalan scalps four in Thiruthani’s win

: V.G. Deenadayalan’s four for 18 enabled Thiruthani defeat Jaya Educational Trust by two wickets in a third division match of the TNCA-Tiruvallur DCA cricket league held here recently.

The scores:

Third Division: Jaya Educational Trust 118 in 28.2 overs (V. G. Deenadayalan four for 18) lost to Thiruthani 120 for eight in 17 overs (R. Raj Kumar four for 35).

Lucas TVS-Tiruvallur DCA Trophy: Lucas TVS 155 in 28.1overs (P. Barath Kumar 53) lost to Foxconn 159 for three in 22.4 overs (L. Vinoth 47 n.o.).

Don Bosco triumphs

Vigneshwar (76) and Vijay Kumar (five for 23) enabled Don Bosco (Egmore) to beat Vyasa Vidyalaya by 222 runs in the final of the Bhooma Teacher Memorial schools cricket tournament held here on Sunday.

The scores: Final: Don Bosco (Egmore) 293 for eight in 40 overs (Vigneshwar 76, G.K. Shyam 35, Suryasree 39, Sarath Raj 25, Joy Kenny 36, Deryl Ferrario 42, Karthick Prabhu three for 68) bt Vyasa Vidyalaya 71 in 27.4 overs (Kiran Akash three for six, Vijay Kumar five for 23).

Indian Bank posts win

V. Raja’s brace enabled Indian Bank edge Income Tax 3-2 in a preliminary match of the IOB-Syed Ahmed Memorial all-India invitation hockey tournament at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium here on Sunday.

Deepak was the other scorer for IB. Nizzam scored twice for Income Tax.

Later, Southern Railway drubbed Great HC (Vadipatti) with a big margin of 10-0 in another contest.

Diwakaran, Gowthaman, Mahendra Singh, Jayraj (5), Aravind and Jagath Jothi found the net for SR.
