Retiring from ODI? Not sure, says Dhoni

M.S. Dhoni would not be clear on his future in One-Day International cricket after India’s loss to Australia in the semifinals of the World Cup here on Thursday.

Asked at the presentation ceremony about playing the next World Cup, he said: “Not sure. I’m 33, I’m still running, still fit. Next year is the T20 World Cup; it will be time to decide about 2019 or not.”

At the post-match press conference, however, Dhoni remained obtuse.

“A very interesting answer,” he said. “It’s up to you guys. The media should do nice research on it, take a few days, and my advice will be whatever you decide, write the complete opposite. That will be the fact. It’s up to you guys.”

Dhoni had retired from Tests in December midway through the Australia series.
