TNCA league Inter-club transfers: hectic activity on final day

There was hectic activity at the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) on the last date for the league’s inter-club transfer, here, on Monday.

In the first division, Vijay CC has sought young talent. State player B. Indrajith has been roped in from Grand Slam. And paceman Aswin Crist, another State Ranji Player, has joined the team from UFCC (T, Nagar). Consistent batsman Kaushik Gandhi too moves in from UFCC.

Vijay will wait a while before an announcing its outstation cricketers. It is to be mentioned here that India captain M.S. Dhoni is employed with India Cements which owns Vijay.

Jolly Rovers will field Saurashtra batsman Sheldon Jackson in the early phase of the league. Three other outstation players, Parvez Rasool, Akshar Patel and Manan Vohra, all part of India ‘A’’s team to Australia, will join Rovers or sister club Alwarpet later.

Rovers also has Rajasthan batsman Robin Bist, registered last year, who will be eligible to play for the club from August. The side has gained pacemen K. Vignesh (from India Pistons) and T. Natraj (Vijay). State paceman J. Kaushik has shifted from Rovers to Alwarpet.

Globe Trotters will have the services of K. Shri Vasudeva Das (Young Stars). Kerala left-arm spinner Mohnish Satish will also be representing the club.

India Pistons will be strengthened by the inclusion of left-handed Vidharbha opening batsman Faiz Fazal and the experienced Services middle-order batsman Yashpal Singh.

Young Stars has included Karnataka batsman Ganesh Satish as its outstation player. The side will also field Andhra wicketkeeper-batsman Bharat Srikar and under-19 batsman U. Vishal (both TFUCC) this season.

Aruna has been bolstered by the inclusion of Uttar Pradesh left-arm spin bowling all-rounder Ali Murtuza and Maharashtra wicketkeeper-batsman Rohit Motwani.

IOB has gone in for promising youngsters. The team has signed Andhra u-25 opener K. Sreekanth, left-arm spinner Vijay Anand and paceman S.K. Balaji (both Alwarpet) apart from seasoned batsman Ra. Aravind (T.I. Cycles).

Under-19 left-arm spinning all-rounder S. Aravind (Egmore RC) and wicketkeeper-batsman F. Jagadeesh (UFCC) will turn out for Grand Slam and u-19 pace bowling all-rounder J. Kousik has been transferred from Vijay to UFCC.
