Absorbing final round on the cards

The competition for places in the Elite Group has heated up ahead of the fifth and final round of the first phase, beginning Saturday, in the TNCA first division league. The top three sides in each pool with go through.

Jolly Rovers and Globe Trotters (both with 23 points) have already progressed to the Elite section while Young Stars (14) and Aruna (10) will battle it out for the third place during their clash in Group ‘A’.

In Group ‘B’, Vijay has qualified with 23 points. But there is a scramble for the other two spots between Alwarpet (18), AG’s Office (15), India Pistons (14) and Grand Slam (13). Alwarpet meets AG’s Office, Pistons takes on Vijay while Grand Slam faces off with S. Railway Institute in the last round.
