The Indian squad for the five-match ODI series and the one-off Twenty20 International in England will be selected here on Saturday.
The team is expected to feature Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Sachin Tendulkar and Zaheer Khan, all of whom missed the ODI series in the West Indies due to fitness concerns.
However, there is a question mark over the availability of Yuvraj Singh who is grappling with a fractured finger.
Off-spinner Harbhajan Singh, recovering from a grade I abdominal tear, is expected to be rested in any case for ordinary form with the ball.
Zaheer Khan, Praveen Kumar, Munaf Patel and Ishant Sharma should form the core of the pace attack, with Ashish Nehra, S. Sreesanth or R. Vinay Kumar in the running for the fifth paceman's spot.
Off-spinner R. Ashwin and leggie Amit Mishra should be the two specialist spinners. And Parthiv Patel is expected to be the reserve wicketkeeper-batsman.
If Yuvraj misses out due to fitness concerns, then either Ajinkya Rahane or Yusuf Pathan could receive a look-in. The Twenty20 International will be held in Manchester on August 31.
The five-match ODI series will begin at Chester-le-Street on September 3.
