Sri Lanka captain Mahela Jayawardene won the toss and elected to bat first against Australia in their one-day tri-series match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Friday.

The Australia team is captained by Shane Watson while regular skipper Michael Clarke is rested. Pace bowler James Pattinson returns to the XI from a foot injury, while Brett Lee remains out with an injured foot.
