Kevin Pietersen is looking forward to batting alongside Virender Sehwag when the Englishman turns up for Delhi Daredevils in the Indian Premier League this April.

“To get the opportunity to play with the guy (Sehwag) and be captained by him is something. Though I have played a lot of cricket, I am still a youngster at heart and I love seeing such players entertain the fans.

“The man is a superstar, a legend. To play alongside him is going to be absolutely magnificent,” said Pietersen at the launch of the team T-shirt in Dubai on Thursday.

An honour

Shifting from Deccan Chargers to Delhi was big for him. “It is a big move for me. It is an honour to be transferred from Deccan to Delhi Daredevils. I will absolutely love playing for Delhi Daredevils.”

Pietersen noted that the IPL had its plus points as far as juniors were concerned. “It is a fantastic tournament for both sets of players. The youngsters can learn from guys who have been around the block for a lot of time. For us, it will be nice to pass on information to them because there are a lot of things that we may have forgotten along the way that we get questioned about.”

The England batsman had lot of praise for Rahul Dravid and Virat Kohli. “Touring India, for England, has become a lot better because of the friendships made along the way. Rahul (Dravid) and Virat (Kohli) are guys I speak to a lot. They are really, really good guys.

“They have assisted me in certain areas of my game. I did help Virat when he was playing the Tests in Australia. I am thrilled for him that he has had a good tour.”

Pietersen reckoned Delhi Daredevils would be the team to watch in this IPL. “We are a bunch of very experienced cricketers and there is no reason why we can't push for the final.”
