Pragyan Ojha dedicated his sixth five-wicket haul to Sachin Tendulkar. The left-arm spinner, so much used to casting a spell on West Indies batsmen along with partner R. Ashiwn, was the chief architect of India’s dominance on the opening day.
“It is a great feeling; getting a five-wicket haul in a special Test like this. Getting a five-wicket haul in a Test is always a special feeling... I would like to dedicate this to Sachin paaji.
“This Test belongs to Sachin paaji. We all want him to get a lot of runs and I don’t mind getting overshadowed,” said the day’s most successful bowler.
Ojha said bounce and some turn helped the Indian team take the advantage. “As the ball got older, it started turning a bit. So it was all about sticking to the basics and applying pressure.
“I think it’s a great partnership with Ashwin. We understand each other very well.”
