K. Nithesh Reddy cracked a double century (238, 423b, 25x4) while Buddhi Rahul scored a breezy 121 (126b, 15x4, 4x 6) to help Hyderabad take the first innings lead against Saurashtra in a high-scoring match which ended in a draw in the Cooch Behar Trophy (under-19) cricket tournament’s Elite Group B here on Tuesday.

Jharkhand takes lead

At Chennai, skipper Wilfred Beng’s 138 (8x4, 5x6) helped Jharkhand take the crucial first innings lead against Tamil Nadu on the final day at Chepauk on Tuesday.

Girinath scalps five

At Vizianagaram , P. Girinath Reddy (five for 73) and I. Karthik Raman (three for 85) shone with the ball as Andhra defeated Maharashtra by 10 wickets. Maharashtra opener H. Motkar scored 104 (208b, 16x4). The scores:

At Hyderabad: Saurashtra 528 for eight decl. in 176.5 overs drew with Hyderabad 609 for six in 168.2 overs (K. Nithesh Reddy 238, P. Sai Vikas Reddy 56, Buddhi Rahul 121).

At Chennai: Tamil Nadu 179 & 81 for three in 53 overs vs Jharkhand 253 for nine decl. in 117.1 overs (Wilfred Beng 138, R. Sai Kishore four for 75, M. Siddharth three for 64). Points: Jharkhand 3; Tamil Nadu 1.

At Vizianagaram: Andhra 454 for eight decl. & 47 for no loss in 11.1 overs (C.R. Gnaneswar 34 n.o.) bt Maharashtra 236 & 264 in 84 overs (H. Motkar 104, S.D. Jagdale 53, S.A. Kothari 26, P. Girinath Reddy five for 73, I. Karthik Raman three for 85). Andhra 7; Maharashtra 0.
