Kolkata Knight Riders middle order batsman Eoin Morgan feels his team has the skills and would try to make best use of them when it takes on Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Eden Gardens here on Sunday.
“We are playing at our home ground. We will try and produce skills and concentrate on things we do best. Hopefully, we can produce a win,” Morgan said after the team’s practice session on Saturday.
“The momentum is currently not with us. We would obviously try to take a bit of confidence from what we did last year. We were in a similar position, but we did turn things around,” he said.
Reflecting on the back-to-back losses that his team has suffered, Morgan said the matches were close. “T20 is a funny game. We could have easily won against Rajasthan Royals, but against Royal Challengers Bangalore it was pretty hard to stop Chris Gayle,” he said.
Talking about the gains the team has had out of its three outings so far, Morgan said Sunil Narine’s good form was quite encouraging.
“Sunil has bowled well so far. He is a match-winner, especially at home. It is good to see him doing well, even when the team is losing,” Morgan said.
Morgan could not confirm Brendon McCullum’s inclusion in the squad but said the New Zealand batsman was an asset for the side. “He is a world class player. He brings in a lot to the team with his skills. If he is included, hopefully he will do well,” Morgan said.
