Nathu Singh, who was picked by Mumbai Indians at Rs. 3.2 crore was understandably elated. “It is an unbelievable moment in my life because I never expected to command the price in crores. It seems very unreal. I was extremely nervous at the start of the auction. So, while my parents and brother watched at home I headed to a friend’s house. Once my name was announced I closed my eyes opened only when the bids started to rise. My parents are of course over the moon and I’m happy their sacrifices have paid-off.”
“It didn’t matter to me which team I was picked in. All I was hoping for was for a chance to play in the IPL, which I believe will be the stepping stone to my dream of playing for the country,” he said.
